Background:
The science of nutrition is central to both human and animal lives. With the increasing need to ensure global food security in line with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, it becomes necessary to extend the 'tentacles' of research to new areas laden with potentials for food security. My research interest is in the area of molecular nutrition studies using swine and poultry. I am interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms by which nutrient-nutrient and nutrient-gene interactions occur in these models and how to efficiently utilize such knowledge to appropriately 'police' their feeds and feeding.
